Road Safety and Shock Absorbers

To most people a shock absorber is an unseen component somewhere near the wheel and suspension which never needs to be checked or looked at as it always works and does not wear out or need replacing.

Unfortunately, this isn’t true. Shock absorbers keep tyres in contact with the road by “damping” out excessive spring movements and bounce. Tyres need to stay in contact with the road surface in order for the driver to remain in full control of the vehicle, so without fully functional shock absorbers, the driver’s control of the vehicle is going to be seriously compromised.

As an added bonus, good shock absorbers give drivers and passengers a more comfortable ride and reduce wear on tyres and other suspension components.

What Factors Affect Stopping Distances?

Do you know the most important factors which help drivers to stop quickly and safely? Would it surprise you to know that it's a combination of brakes, tyres, and shock absorbers?  Tyres Don't underestimate the importance of your tyres in the safe braking equation....

What Is A Shock Absorber?

Many people don't know what shock absorbers are In their simplest form, shock absorbers are hydraulic pump like devices that help to control the impact and rebound movement of your vehicle's springs and suspension. Along with smoothing out bumps and vibrations, shock...
